I had the chaotic and immense pleasure of shooting a crew of moms being moms (read: rockstars, chefs, superheroes, multi-taskers, sacrificers, nurses, every-other-job-in-the-world = mom). I don't know if it gets MORE candid than capturing mothers manage their littles. These four gals got together and created a space to play, eat, sip coffee, pass out snacks and socialize. We photographed inside for the first half of our shoot and then wandered down to a local playground to finish up. It was a full morning - complete with shouting, preparing, chatting over shrieks, face wipes, crackers (so, so many crackers) and lots of humour.
It's no secret - I have a crazy passion for photographing moms (now more than ever as I have recently joined the mom club). These warrior women are often left out of family vacations, memorable experiences, and important milestones because they tend to be the ones hustling to capture it all. It is SUCH a treat to get to relieve moms of that responsibility and document these moments for them - the average, the exceptional, the thought out, the spontaneous... And all the moments in between.
*Pro tip: Mama friends - gather a gang together and book a photoshoot (but actually - what are ya waiting for?). This is a super affordable and accessible way to get wonderful, updated photos of you and your babes (friends/children). Casual, styled, in-home, out and about... the possibilities are endless.
